Designation of Origin: Deutscher Landwein Main
Vintage: NV, which stands for non vintage, because this wine is a blend of vintages 2023 and 2024.
Alcohol: 12%
Grape(s): 100% Pinot Blanc
Vineyard: This is a plot of vines right under the forest line. The forest name is Steiger (Steigerwald), which is also the name of the subregion of Franken where we are making wine.
Vinification: This is a blend of two vintages. In 2023, we had one barrel of 500L of wine, which had been directly pressed. We decided to keep aging it further for a second year in barrel. In 2024 we had a bit more than double the amount of grapes, we pressed them directly as well, aged them in 500L barrels for a year. Just prior to bottling in August, we blended the two vintages. We loved the mouthfeel and taste of the two different harvests together, the slight notes of barrel aging coupled to the freshness of the ‘24 juice, a vintage that was colder and rainier.
Aging: in 500L barrels
Bottled: 14th of August 2025
Soil type: Gipskeuper
Age of vines: This vineyard was planted in 2009.
Sulfur: All of our wines had a microdose of sulfur pre-bottling, and analyses came back under 20mg total.
A note about the name: We wanted a French name for this banger of a wine, so we named it after a banger of a song from the 80s.
